The Artist

Trained as a printmaker, currently the lead sign painter at her local Trader Joe’s, Jessica Chavez is a multidisciplinary artist out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by where she grew up, her faith, her family roots throughout the country and abroad, as well as her experience as being a woman from a multicultural and multiracial background, Jess’ work is often a meditation on the layers of human emotion, the interconnectedness of generations, life cycles, and memory. When she isn’t working, you can find Jess biking around town with her k-9 buddy, Bean.
